Making the Most out of your Kindergarten Photography in Sydney

If you are a centre manager and currently have a photo day planned for your preschool, you will likely have set some time aside for planning the day. To ensure you make the most out of your photo day experience, kindergarten photographers in Sydney often provide you with a detailed proposal for the day, allowing you to organise staff, children and the centre itself.

If you are unsure of what to expect, now is a good time to get in touch with your provider and request an overview of what will occur throughout the day so you can best prepare your families. Below are just some of the things you can do within your centre to establish a calm and organised setting for the arrival of your providers for kindergarten photography in Sydney.

Assess the Roster and Plan your Day Accordingly

Working with professional photographers, you will have the peace of mind that they will be able to provide you with stunning portrait photography. If group photos and staff photos are also important for your photography goals, be sure to go over this with your photographer ahead of time. There are some things you will need to manage internally to ensure they can capture each of the photos on your list. For example, if you would like to capture class photographs, this can be tricky as the schedules for each child will vary.

There may not be a single day where each child is present. To reduce the disruption to as many families as possible, try to schedule a day where most children are present, for example, your busiest or most popular day at the centre. You can then ask the handful of families who do not attend the centre on those set days to pop in should they like to be part of the group and portrait sessions. The same goes for staff who may not be rostered on those days. This comes down to planning and providing families and staff with plenty of notice.

Provide Lots of Notice

Providing your staff and families with plenty of notice is important. As parents and staff plan holidays and events, they may wish to include photo day into their schedule in advance – to ensure they can commit to attending photo day. It is recommended to alert families of the photo day as soon as it is locked in and the contract is signed. Whether this be months in advance or as part of a calendar you share with your families, this will reduce questions regarding photo day and ensure everyone is aware of the days that they will be required to attend the centre to take part.
